WOMEN’S BEGINNING KEELBOAT
SCHEDULE: Monday and Thursday, 2 - 5 PM or 6 - 9 PM
DURATION: Two weeks
PUBLIC: $365 | MEMBER: $260This class introduces Ensign keelboats in a welcoming environment for womxn (cis, trans, and other female-identifying people) and non-binary individuals. Women provide all instruction.
The Ensign is a 23-foot boat weighing over 3,000 pounds, with a full keel for a stable, secure ride. Sailors will be paired in groups of 3-4 per boat.
Participants will learn the basics of sailing, including terminology, rigging, boat parts, maneuvering, points of sail, and rules of the road. No prior experience is required. Each student will receive the US Sailing textbook "Basic Keelboat" to reinforce class concepts.
If a session is missed due to weather or unforeseen events, it will be rescheduled to Noon – 3:00 PM on the Saturday following each two-week class.
