DURATION: Two weeks
PUBLIC: $365 | MEMBER: $260This beginning sailing class is taught on Ensign keelboats, a 23-foot-long boat weighing about 3,000 pounds. With its full keel, the Ensign provides a stable, secure ride, and its large cockpit accommodates 6-8 adults.
The class covers everything you need to start sailing, including terminology, rigging, boat parts, maneuvering, points of sail, and rules of the road. No prior sailing experience is required. Sailors will earn a Green Flag rating for our Membership Program upon completion of the class
Students will receive the US Sailing textbook "Basic Keelboat" to reinforce the concepts taught in class.
Children ages 12 and older may register with a parent or guardian. For larger groups, the Family Keelboat class is recommended.
If a session is missed due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, it will be rescheduled to Noon–3 PM on the Saturday following each two-week class.
