OPTIMIST RACE TEAM

AGES: 9-13
SCHEDULE: One week, Monday through Friday,
8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
PUBLIC: $380 | MEMBER: $270

WHO ARE OPTIMIST RACERS?
Optimist Racers are youth, ages 9-13, who want to dive into the exciting world of sailboat racing. This class is for sailors who have completed Opti Cruisers, can handle the boat independently, and are eager to take their skills to the next level.

MORE DETAILS:
Students will refine racing skills, including starts, upwind and downwind sailing, sail trim for speed, racing rules, strategy, and more.

We encourage sailors to register for multiple sessions and participate in the popular Twin Cities Youth Sailing regattas on Fridays. MSC provides Optis and coaching support, but regatta entry fees and transportation are not included.

WHAT’S NEXT?
Opti racers should stay in Opti race camp until they are ready for 420 Cruisers or 420 Intro to Race.
