WHO ARE JUNIOR EXPLORERS?
Junior Explorers is a fun, safe introduction to sailing for first-time or newer sailors ages 5-6. With an instructor always on the boat, sailors will gain confidence while learning the basics of sailing in a small group. The class is designed to be both educational and enjoyable, with plenty of games to make sailing exciting. It’s the perfect summer camp experience to introduce your little ones to the world of sailing!

WHAT’S AN ENSIGN?
The 22-foot Ensign Keelboat is an ideal boat for learning. Its stability and easy handling make it perfect for young sailors to feel comfortable on the water.

MORE DETAILS:
We place up to six sailors per boat with an instructor, ensuring every child feels safe and supported while learning. Kids can sign up alone or with friends and will sail together in the same boat.

It is not guaranteed that we will get out on the water each day of the session. On days when the wind is too high to be on the water safely, we play games and learn on shore.

WHAT’S NEXT?
After taking this course, sailors seven and older are ready for the half-day or full-day Opti Explorers class. Students are welcome to keep coming back to Junior Explorers as long as they are in the 5-6 age range.
