YOUTH 420 RACE TEAM
AGES: 12-17
SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM, Regatta Fridays 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
DURATION: Three Weeks
PUBLIC: $500 MEMBER: $350WHO’S ON THE 420 RACE TEAM?
Sailors on the 420 Race Team have taken 420 Intro to Racing or equivalent and are interested in continuing to expand and develop their racing skills.MORE SPECIFICS:
The class will focus on advanced boat handling, sail trim, tactics, and strategy in a class with hands-on coaching.
Sailors will learn how to race on different classes of boats including, 420, Laser, Ensign, and C-Scow.
Students are encouraged to participate in the TCYS regatta series held on certain Fridays of the session. Sailors are welcome to participate in all TCYS events regardless if they are enrolled in the current camp. Coaching for the regattas will be provided. Regatta entry fees and boat chartering fees are not included.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Many sailors on the 420 Race Team go on to join the Spring and Fall high school sailing teams. High School sailing is for grades 7-12.
