SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
DURATION: Two weeks

WHO ARE EXPLORERS?
420 Explorers are youth ages 12-17 who are first-time or newer sailors. This class focuses on building confidence on the water and learning fundamental sailing skills in a fun, non-competitive environment.

MORE SPECIFICS:
The curriculum places an emphasis on the enjoyment of sailing through engaging games, activities, and adventures.

Classes include brief lessons and demonstrations on land followed by on-the-water practice and games. Coaches follow their classes in safety boats, ensuring sailors’ safety and helping them improve.

Students will learn how to rig the boat, land at a dock or buoy, tack and gybe, sail upwind and downwind in a variety of wind conditions, and tie knots.

Each session offers new and exciting adventures and activities, and enrolling in multiple sessions is encouraged!

WHAT’S NEXT?
After checking off their Explorer skills, sailors are ready to move on to 420 Cruisers.
